‘Isatis’ to vie at Green Montenegro filmfest

Iranian documentary ‘Isatis’ has been scheduled to vie at the Green Montenegro International Film Fest (GMIFF) in Serbia.

Produced and directed by Alireza Dehqan, the documentary will represent Iran at this year’s edition of the event.

‘Isatis’ is a poetic documentary on a portion of Iran’s culture narrated by four elements of nature.

“A story of the hands of the people who turned soil into elixir... and reached from nonexistence to existence. An old story of the true value of water... A story of a town with all its vicissitudes that has been shining like agate in the heart of the dry and barren soil of the desert. A story of the kind dialogue between religions and the scent of faith narrated by water, wind, earth and fire”, a synopsis for the film reads.

The doc has already taken part in a number of global film events, including the Golden Tree International Documentary Festival in France, the Ocean City Film Festival in the US, and the RAM film festival in Italy.

The GMIFF is a concept film festival covering a topic of environment protection.

The ninth edition of the event is slated for July 29-31, 2023.
